XLIII ANNUAL MEETING OF THE WILLI HENNIG SOCIETY 9-13 November 2026 Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Bogotá, Colombia Chair: Dr. Dimitri Forero The Willi Hennig Society invites the evolutionary biology community to its XLIII Annual Meeting. The meeting covers phylogenetic theory, methods, and empirical systematics across all groups of organisms. Three workshops run alongside it, and the Society funds student and early-career participation through travel awards. Two deadlines fall on 31 August 2026. WORKSHOPS (pre-registration closes 31 August 2026) Each workshop costs USD 100 and admits up to 30 participants. Workshop 1: Phylogenetic Analysis and Use of TNT (6-8 November 2026). Instructors: Pablo Goloboff (Unidad Ejecutora Lillo, FML-CONICET, Argentina) and Michael Pittman (The Chinese University of Hong Kong). Workshop 2: Phylogenomics: From Genome-Scale Data to Evolutionary Inference (14-16 November 2026). Instructors: Cinthy Lorena Jiménez Silva (University of Auckland, New Zealand), Jordan Douglas (Australian National University, Australia), and Ambrosio Torres (Museum für Naturkunde, Berlin, Germany). Workshop 3: Phylogenetic Biogeography with PhyGeo (14-16 November 2026, online). Instructor: J. Salvador Arias (Instituto de Biología Subtropical, CONICET-UNaM, Argentina). Workshops 2 and 3 share the same dates, so each participant may take only one of them. TRAVEL AND CHILD CARE AWARDS (applications close 31 August 2026) The Society supports students and postdoctoral researchers who present at the meeting, and awards are also available for early-career researchers. The awards provide USD 800 for participants traveling within South America and USD 1,500 for those traveling from outside South America. Child Care Meeting Awards are also available. A complete application includes a CV, a travel budget that justifies the proposed expenses, and the title and an outline of the work to be presented (500 words maximum). Student and postdoctoral applicants must arrange for their principal advisor to certify their current status. An application for the Child Care Meeting Award also needs a summary of the need for childcare support and the associated expenses. Priority goes to students who present their work and also participate in one of the workshops.
