The University of Colorado Boulder’s Museum and Field Studies Graduate (MFS) Program (https://www.colorado.edu/cumuseum/graduate-program/about-program) is recruiting a Master’s student for the Invertebrate Zoology section. The goal of the MFS program is to produce high quality museum professionals. Our students go on to become collections managers, curators, researchers, museum educators etc., with considerable hands-on training and the theory of museology to build successful careers in museums and other institutions throughout the world. The program combines rigorous training in museology and scientific research in invertebrate zoology, evolution, and symbiosis.

The position will be fully funded through a Graduate Assistant position in the Invertebrate Zoology section. Working 20 hours per week at the collections, the selected student will earn a stipend, tuition remission, and formal education and training in specimen care, data management, and collection organization as well as research experience. Collections projects could include pitfall trap invertebrate identification, cataloging incoming collections, ethanol remediation, mollusk inventory, and other various tasks.

Applicants must have basic knowledge or interest in non-insect invertebrate taxa and willingness to complete either a research thesis or project as required by the program.
