Graduate positions in Evolutionary Genomics University of South Florida The Margres Lab (https://www.margreslab.com/) in the Department of Integrative Biology at the University of South Florida is looking for highly motivated graduate students (M.S. and Ph.D.) for an NSF-funded position (https://www.nsf.gov/awardsearch/show-award?AWD_ID=2553796) to study convergent evolution in venom systems. The project is in collaboration with Dr. Darin Rokyta at Florida State University (https://drokyta.com). The project will use a combination of field work, ’omics, and bioinformatic approaches to answer fundamental questions regarding how complex traits evolve. Candidates should have a background in genomics and/or bioinformatics and be an independent learner with a strong work ethic. Familiarity with R, Linux/Unix, computing clusters, and/or the use of bioinformatic tools is expected. Candidates should also have strong lab and interpersonal skills allowing them to work well in a laboratory setting and in a group.
