Apprising research community of a new funding opportunity from the Symbiosis in Aquatic Systems Initiative The Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation’s Symbiosis in Aquatic Systems Initiative is reaching out to request guidance on the best way to inform members of the Evolution Directory about a funding opportunity that we expect will be of strong interest to your community. We have just announced a new request for proposals focused on advancing understanding of marine and freshwater symbioses by bringing new methodological, theoretical, and disciplinary perspectives to aquatic symbiosis research. The call will support teams of two investigators who combine expertise in aquatic symbiosis with complementary approaches from other areas of science to pursue high‑risk, high‑impact research and/or ambitious methods development within the call’s focal areas. We feel that the Evolution Directory is an important venue for sharing this opportunity with scientists who may be interested. In addition to researchers who currently work in aquatic symbiosis, we are especially eager to reach scientists and engineers who may not have previously worked in this area but who could bring novel perspectives, methods, and technologies to bear for investigation of aquatic symbiotic partnerships. Thank you very much for your time and consideration. We appreciate your help and look forward to hearing from you. With best regards, The Symbiosis in Aquatic Systems Initiative Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation symbiosis@moore.org (to subscribe/unsubscribe the EvolDir send mail to evoldir@evoldir.net)
